Moisturize your skin on a regularly basis BEFORE your appointment. This will soften your skin & hair follicles, making it easier to remove the hair.
Use a dry brush or pumice gloves to exfoliate you skin to remove dead skin cells & help lift ingrown hairs. However, do not do this a couple days before or after your service, as you may lift skin.
Do not use a razor or depilatory creams between services. This will interfere in refining & diminishing your hair growth. It can also encourage ingrown hairs. This makes for a longer appointment, which will hurt more.
Make sure you are extra clean front & back right before your appointment.
I would prefer to trim for you, unless you have sugared before & know how long the hair should be
If you suffer from ingrown hairs, dry brushing on a regular basis will help you. Or an exfoliating lotion might be preferable. We have a nice of lotions to choose from.
If you are menstruating, please do not reschedule your appointment; only if you feel uncomfortable. Most of my clientele use a tampon and think nothing of it.
The hair should be 1/4 to 1/8 inch long to be removed; size of a grain of rice. If you shave, 10-12 days is sufficient. If your hair is longer, leave it, do not trim. (We find most clients trim the hair too short). If need be, we will trim it for you.
Your first time sugaring will be the most painful. If you keep a regular schedule sugaring, every 3-5 weeks, the pain will gradually diminish. You will find taking a pain reliever, helpful, 30- 45 minutes before your appointment, this takes the edge off the pain.
